I can scarcely believe how much our world has changed in the last few weeks. Social distancing (physical distancing), self-isolating, quarantine and COVID-19 counts are now commonplace. The first week I struggled with the rapid changes. Last week I fine-tuned a daily ‘at home’ routine that was comfortable. This week the reality of the situation is sinking-in. We are indeed in this for the long-term.
That is why I’m writing to you at this time.
First, though, I would like to send my condolences to anyone who has lost a loved one. Even though we may not have met in person, I want you to know that I think about you daily.
Second, I would like to salute all the people going to work everyday to keep us safe. Your courage and strength are appreciated.
A Different World
Most of us are adapting to our much smaller physical worlds and staying connected in the global world of the Internet. Everyday people from around the world post videos, photos and messages that are truly creative, uplifting and often funny. I’m fascinated by our shared understanding of life in COVID-time regardless of where we live.
I’ve been thinking about how I can best help at this time. As with many of you I’m staying at home. Fortunately I have a home studio and I’m able to paint more frequently than usual and I’ve decided that my art will be my modest contribution.
I’ll keep doing what I do best — creating and painting — and posting my artwork in hopes that it will give you a brief moment where you are transported into another world.
If you feel like you would like to purchase a painting then please contact me. I will personally deliver paintings in Winnipeg ( practicing physical distancing ). Otherwise I will be using Canada Post, which has a COVID-19 policy to place to keep everyone safe. I will also hold paintings for you until you feel you are ready to finalize a purchase.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoy my art, which I will continue to post on social media.
