Lots apparently!

Yep, it’s that time of year when one feels compelled to look back over the year and reflect. The closing of 2019 is also the end of a decade so I’m into a BIG reflection. As if that weren’t enough I’ve been painting full-time for 5 years now, a milestone that would require a major stock-taking anyways.

So What’s With all the Trees?

Peering Through the Autumn Leaves

I love trees. I have no idea why. I’ve been inspired by the Canadian Shield landscape at our cottage, which is full of trees, for many years and I’ve been painting it almost exclusively for the past 5 years. Looking back, I see some growth in my creativity and paintings and I still love trees, the Canadian Shield and landscape painting, but for some reason I need a change. I have no idea why, but I do.

2019 is Over

Yep, its done and it was a fabulous year. My family flourished, my husband and I are enjoying our lives together more and more and I created and learned repeatedly. Really, it doesn’t get any better.

Bring on 2020

I want to continue growing as an artist, though, so ‘bring on 2020.’ I intend to dig deeper, unleash my creativity and be more innovative. I’m not content to stay on the same creative path I set-out 5 years ago.

I’m still mulling my options. I’ll continue to paint for sure, but I have a few ideas on ways to experiment. Stay tuned. I’ll be posting regularly on social media and my website.

Happy New Year

I wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year. I’m excited about all the possibilities of starting a new year and a new decade and hope you are as well.

And, I’m looking forward to sharing my artist’s journey with you in 2020.
